Record of the Gerudo: Tribe of the Sentinel Fortress

Of the Twinrova

The darkest chapter in our history is the time when the Twinrova Kotake and Koume came to dwell once more among our people.  Their activity within the Tribe of Tiram has been blessedly infrequent, but the few moments were still as deadly as venom.  They pray to Dobunga, who sired all evil things, and seek the destruction of our world.1

The harbingers of destruction are not to be trusted for they were the ones to place the curse that is Ganon upon us all.

It is said that once, long ago when they were still Gerudo, they were priestesses in the Desert Colossus.  Beautiful they were, though they also looked the same.  In order to tell one from the other, their prayer gems were covered with tainted glass.  It is not known whether they were always so, but one day they prayed to Savari for their own selfish desires to come to pass and, when it failed, a madness surely brought about by Dobunga seized their minds.  Whenever one prays to our mother and protector, her blessing must be asked for all our people or, in times of dire need, protection for one's self can be asked for.  Because of what they prayed for and for Dobunga's taint, they were cast out of the tribe and into the unforgiving desert, where they should have died.

They lived.  None know how or when they began to turn their worship from Savari to Dobunga, but it is certain that they survived.

They later come every now and again and to steal from the tribe or do Dobunga's work.  The elders believe that they were the true cause of death to Dorana and not the desert sands as once thought.2  It is also possible that many or some of the deaths in the desert far beyond the Sentinel Fortress were their doing.3  The reason for belief that the evil sisters were the cause of Dorana's death was that by the time her son Ganondorf had come of age to lead our people he permitted their entry and had taken them in as both advisors and servants.4

What followed was a dark time, as Ganondorf, son of Dorana, betrayed all for the power of the Goddesses.

1. Although they indeed were priestesses of Savari, they never worshiped Dobunga.  This is an assumption made by the Gerudo people.  They had come to realize that Savari was not answering the prayers of her worshipers and that her miracles were in fact magic borne of the inner strength of the people.  For denouncing Savari as a true Goddess, they were exiled.
2. They were.  The sand storm she was caught up in was also their work.
3. There were unfortunate souls who were caught and used in their dark practices.  Rare was it when they took a prisoner just to make them a slave.
4 They had plotted to take control of the tribe by perfecting their mind-bend magic.  Details can be learned in the chapter regarding King Ganondorf Dragmire.
Some old idea I had regarding Twinrova.

I oined a Zelda roleplay group here on DeviantArt and since I'm Ganondorf I decided to share this with the local Twinrova.

This is written as though it was a history book written by Gerudo from sometime after Ganondorf's reign.

A bit of clarifying:
Tribe of Tiram is Ganondorf's tribe.
Savari is supposed to be the snake-goddess that adorns the Temple of Spirit but was really Gust an ancient hero who saved the tribe from death.
Dobunga is actually Bongo Bongo the massive monster that haunts the temple.
Dorana is Ganondorf's real mother.
